Ghanaian football icon Abedi Ayew “Pele” made a special appearance at Nania Park as he watched his beloved Nania FC take on Andre XI in a friendly encounter on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
Abedi’s presence added significance to the game, with the former Black Stars captain continuing to maintain a strong connection with Nania FC, the club he founded and has closely associated himself with since its establishment.
In a video shared online, the three-time African Footballer of the Year was seen hugging and greeting some officials as he entered the dugout.
The former Marseille midfielder has played an important role in the development of Nania FC, which has sought to provide a platform for young Ghanaian footballers to develop and progress in their careers.

Nania FC has also enjoyed notable moments in Ghanaian football, winning the 2011 MTN FA Cup after defeating Asante Kotoko on penalties in the final.
