Former Barcelona and Brazil defender Dani Alves has continued to publicly embrace his Christian faith, with a video circulating on social media showing him praying for people during a religious gathering.

In the footage, Alves can be seen placing his hands on people as he prays over them, with the former football star appearing to minister to those seeking healing and spiritual intervention.

The scenes are the latest indication of Alves’ growing involvement in Christian ministry following a difficult period in his life.

Alves has previously spoken openly about how his Christian faith became central to his life during his 14 months in prison.

In May 2026, he addressed a crowd of about 35,000 people at the evangelical The Change Madrid event, where he spoke about his experience and said, “In prison, Christ set me free.”

He has also been involved in preaching and worship, with reports in 2025 describing him as increasingly active in church ministry.

The latest video has attracted attention online as Alves continues what appears to be a significant transformation from football superstar to Christian preacher and evangelist.

The 43-year-old retired in 2023 after an illustrious career that included spells with Barcelona, Sevilla, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.
