Ghanaian defender Oscar Naasei has taken his first step into life at Real Madrid after making his debut for the club’s reserve side, Castilla, against Teruel in the Primera Federación on Monday, August 31, 2026.

The 21-year-old started at centre-back and completed the full 90 minutes as Castilla opened their campaign with a goalless draw away from home.

Naasei also played a part in one of the game’s key moments, helping Castilla win a penalty shortly before half-time after a delivery from Pol Fortuny was deflected onto an opponent’s hand. However, Rachad saw his spot-kick saved.

The appearance comes just days after Naasei completed a permanent move to Real Madrid from Granada in a deal reported to be worth around €2 million. He has signed a contract running until 2029.

Born in Accra, Naasei began his football journey with Ghanaian academy Emmanuel City before moving to Granada in 2023.

He progressed rapidly through the Spanish club’s youth and reserve teams before breaking into the first team.

He leaves Granada having made 48 official appearances for the first team across La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
