Former Black Stars captain, André Ayew, brought excitement to Kwahu on Saturday, August 29, 2026, after arriving in the Eastern Region for a community football game and surprising some young fans with cash gifts.

Ayew was warmly received by a crowd of supporters as he made his way into the community, with videos from his arrival showing the former Ghana captain interacting with fans before handing out GH¢100 notes to some of those gathered.

The gesture drew cheers from the crowd and added to the excitement surrounding his visit.

Ayew was in Kwahu for a community football event at the Abetifi Anglican Park, where he joined other well-known Ghanaian football figures, including his younger brother Jordan Ayew and former Black Stars midfielder Mubarak Wakaso.

The gathering offered fans an opportunity to see some of the country’s most recognisable football personalities away from the international stage.

The 36-year-old has remained active in Ghana following his departure from Dutch side NAC Breda, with the veteran forward recently revealing that he is negotiating with some clubs as he considers the next step in his career.
