Black Stars midfielder Kwasi Sibo has explained that he exchanged jerseys with English midfielder Jude Bellingham out of admiration for the player, contrary to claims made by actor Yaw Dabo.

According to Sibo, during Ghana’s goalless draw against the Three Lions at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, he had a brief conversation with the Real Madrid superstar in which they discussed swapping jerseys.

He noted that after the game, Bellingham honoured his promise, and they exchanged shirts. Sibo added that he wished him good luck and congratulated him on winning the Most Valuable Player award.

“It means a lot because I think he is a great guy and a great footballer. We both play in Spain's La Liga, so sometimes we have a little chat in Spanish. I told him, and he said after the game we would exchange jerseys. I wished him good luck and was happy for him winning the Man of the Match Award," Sibo told the media after the game.

However, Ghanaian actor Yaw Dabo, in a recent interview, has asked Sibo to return a Bellingham jersey he claims was meant for him, seven weeks after Ghana's clash with England.

According to the popular Kumawood star, Bellingham gave his jersey to Sibo with instructions to pass it on to him after he had requested it at the end of the game in Boston.

The jersey never reached Dabo, who later saw Sibo wearing it on social media. This has sparked public debate, with the actor's claims clearly differing from the player's explanation.
