A bus contracted to provide transport for Brazilian club São Paulo FC has been seized in Bolivia after authorities discovered approximately 86.5kg of marijuana hidden inside the vehicle.
The incident occurred near Cochabamba as the bus was travelling to collect the Brazilian delegation for their Copa Sudamericana trip to Bolivia, where São Paulo are scheduled to face Bolívar.
According to Brazilian reports, Bolivian anti-narcotics officers stopped the vehicle and found four large sacks containing suspected marijuana.
However, no São Paulo players or staff were on the bus when it was intercepted. The vehicle, operated by logistics company Buses Cosmos, had reportedly been arranged to transport the squad during their stay in Bolivia.

The club has distanced itself from the discovery and stressed that its delegation had not boarded the bus involved.
The three drivers travelling in the vehicle were reportedly detained following the seizure as authorities investigate where the drugs came from and their intended destination.
Because the seized bus was prevented from continuing its journey, the transport company was forced to provide an alternative vehicle for São Paulo’s travelling party.
Authorities in Bolivia are continuing their investigation into the seized drugs and those connected to the vehicle.
