Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare says he is determined to justify the confidence Ghanaians have placed in him, insisting that this is the moment for him to prove that he belongs at the highest level.

Speaking in an interview with 3Sports about his career and responsibilities as a professional footballer, Asare stressed that football is his full-time profession and that he must continue to demonstrate his ability whenever he gets the opportunity.

"So far, football is my work. Apart from football, I don't do any other work at all. I think this is the right time for me to prove to the Ghanaian people that I can make it. Because once it's my job, I must prove myself anywhere," he said.

The goalkeeper also expressed appreciation for the overwhelming support he has received from fans across the country, saying their encouragement motivates him to continue improving and delivering strong performances for both club and country.

"Because of the love and the way they cherish me, everywhere I go, I have fans there. I think it's good for me to prove myself right now," he added.

Asare, who impressed during Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign, said he remains focused on working harder and maintaining the standards expected of him as the national team’s goalkeeper.

Looking ahead, the Accra Hearts of Oak shot-stopper avoided setting specific targets but assured supporters that they should expect more from him as he continues his development.

"I'm just expecting more because, as of now, I cannot say I expect this or that. We have life, we have everything. Just expect more from me," he stated.

The goalkeeper’s performances have earned him praise from many football fans, with many backing him to play a key role in Ghana’s future international assignments.

Asare is expected to return to club duties with Hearts of Oak ahead of the 2026/2027 season, where he will continue preparations for the upcoming domestic and international competitions.
