President John Dramani Mahama has prepared a "special package" for the Black Stars in recognition of their performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, according to Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

Ablakwa made the announcement during a visit to the team's camp in Rhode Island on Thursday as part of a high-powered government delegation led by Ghana's Ambassador to the United States, Victor Smith.

The delegation, which also included Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams and businessman-philanthropist Ibrahim Mahama, met the players and technical staff ahead of Ghana's decisive Group L clash against Croatia.

Addressing the squad, Ablakwa conveyed a message from President Mahama, describing the President as one of the team's biggest supporters.

"I want to bring you very warm greetings from His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, who, as you know, is your ardent fan," he told the players.
