The Board Chairman of Bechem United FC, Kingsley Owusu, has announced plans to take a group of young footballers to Italy, Dubai and Saudi Arabia as part of efforts to expose them to international opportunities and advance their careers.
Speaking at the Education Through Sports Football Tournament, Owusu said the initiative has over the years helped many Ghanaian players secure opportunities abroad, particularly in Europe.
According to him, selected players from this year's tournament will travel to Italy in August to showcase their talents before scouts and football clubs.
"This year is Italy. In the first week of August, God willing, we'll be going to Italy with these young ones. They are going to exhibit their talents, and we pray that some of them will be able to get the opportunity to play in Europe," he said.

He explained that the programme forms part of a broader effort to create career opportunities for talented footballers who may otherwise struggle to break through in the local game.
"Besides, the same first week in August, we are taking the Under-23 team to Dubai, and by extension, we'll be going to Saudi Arabia to play a couple of games, all in the quest to enhance their football career," he stated.
He said the initiative is aimed at helping young players gain exposure and improve their chances of securing professional contracts abroad.
"Because you know what it takes in Ghana. You can play football in Ghana for 10 years until retirement and have nothing to show. So we open all these opportunities to help them, at least, earn good money," he added.
