Several prominent Ghanaian personalities shared their reactions after Arsenal lost to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on penalties in the 2026 UEFA Champions League final.
PSG secured a tense 4-3 penalty shootout victory over Arsenal after the match ended 1-1 following extra time in Budapest.
The triumph came a year after PSG's emphatic 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the 2025 final in Munich, making them the first club to successfully defend the UEFA Champions League title since Real Madrid's historic three-peat between 2016 and 2018.
PSG beat Arsenal to retain Champions League
They also became only the second club to retain the trophy in the modern Champions League era and just the 10th team in the competition's 71-year history to win back-to-back European titles.
Reacting to the result, several Ghanaian personalities, including politicians Edem Agbana, Justin Frimpong Kodua, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), and Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), as well as musician KiDi and others, took to social media to express their views.
While some congratulated PSG on their historic achievement, many Arsenal supporters expressed disappointment over the result.
Some blamed the match officials for decisions they believed contributed to Arsenal's defeat and denied the club its first-ever UEFA Champions League title.
Others praised the Gunners for their performance and resilience throughout the competition, expressing confidence that the team would return stronger in future seasons and eventually lift the coveted trophy.
PSG and head coach Luis Enrique were widely praised for guiding the French club to consecutive Champions League titles and cementing their place in European football history.
