The Ghana Football Association has officially appointed Asamoah Gyan as the brand ambassador for all Ghana national teams and colt football.

Speaking at the official appointment ceremony, GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku described the decision as an easy one, praising Gyan’s immense contribution to Ghana football and his lasting impact on and off the pitch.

“Well, I think that if one wants to think about an icon, a player who has served Ghana beyond their word, dedication, a player who has made history through the art of scoring, a player who has impacted lives beyond the pitch, there was always going to be one person,” he said.

According to the GFA president, Asamoah Gyan’s achievements, resilience and passion for the country made him the perfect choice for the ambassadorial role.

“There is no need to think about criteria or modalities or qualities or what not. There is only one person that stands tall, and that person is Baby Jet,” he added.

Kurt Okraku further highlighted the former Black Stars captain’s commitment and inspirational influence on young footballers and communities across the country.

“Somebody who has shown resilience, somebody who has been committed, and somebody who has shown passion beyond ordinary life to represent our country. Somebody who is and has always been an inspiration to the community,” he stated.

The GFA believes Asamoah Gyan’s new role will help strengthen the image and development of Ghana football, especially at the grassroots and youth levels.

“We are very happy about today. We are very happy about the way things have gone, and we are looking forward to working with Asamoah Gyan to push our story,” the GFA president concluded.
