Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak were involved in a minor road incident on Saturday, May 16, 2026, while travelling for their Ghana Premier League Matchday 33 clash against FC Samartex 1996 in Samraboi.
The club confirmed in an official statement that their team bus was hit by a tricycle while crossing on the journey to honour the crucial fixture.
Although the incident caused concern among supporters and the football community, Hearts of Oak assured that all players and officials on board escaped unharmed.
According to the statement, a few roadside victims affected during the incident were rushed to the hospital at Wassa Simpa for medical attention. Fortunately, the victims received treatment and were later discharged.
The incident briefly disrupted the club’s trip ahead of one of their final league matches of the season, with fans quickly expressing worry on social media after news broke of the accident.

Hearts of Oak thanked supporters and well-wishers for the concern shown following the incident, while reiterating that the entire travelling contingent remains safe.
