The President of the Ghana Football Association (Ghana Football Association), Kurt Okraku, has expressed optimism about the Black Stars delivering a strong performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He indicated that with the right resources and proper preparation, he is confident the team will exceed expectations at the tournament.
The GFA President noted that the team continues to undergo intensive training and preparations to ensure they are fully ready when the World Cup kicks off in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Why Carlos Queiroz picked so many new faces for Ghana’s Mexico clash
“Very soon our Black Stars will be coming out of the tunnel to represent our country during the Mundial in the US, Canada, and Mexico. These resources will help us prepare adequately for the tournament. We are very positive about the team putting up one of the best performances ever in the history of Ghanaian football,” he said during a ceremony to unveil Gold Fields’ financial support for the national teams.
Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz will lead the team to the 2026 World Cup after taking over from Otto Addo, who was relieved of his duties following poor results.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L and will face England, Croatia, and Panama for a place in the knockout stage of the tournament, which will be hosted across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
