Black Stars winger, Joseph Paintsil continued his fine form in the MLS with a goal for LA Galaxy in their 1-1 draw against Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday night.
The Black Stars winger, who has recently returned from injury, is steadily rediscovering his rhythm and has now registered two goals and two assists in seven league appearances this season.
After a quiet first half, Paintsil made the breakthrough moments after the restart.
The 26-year-old connected neatly with a pass from Lucas Sanabria before calmly finishing to give the Galaxy a deserved lead at home.
LA Galaxy looked on course to secure all three points, but the visitors responded late in the game. With nine minutes remaining, Mathias Laborda rose highest to head home the equaliser for Vancouver Whitecaps, ensuring the spoils were shared.
The match also featured Ghanaian forward Emmanuel Afriyie Sabbi, who lined up for the Whitecaps as they battled to earn a valuable point on the road.
Paintsil’s resurgence will come as a major boost for both club and country, with the winger showing flashes of the attacking quality that made him one of the standout performers for LA Galaxy last season.
The result sees LA Galaxy continue their steady campaign, while Whitecaps remain competitive in the Western Conference standings.
