Dan Kwaku Yeboah criticises Kofi Adams over Black Stars coach's housing saga

Sports journalist Dan Kwaku Yeboah has criticised Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, for his silence on the conversion of the Black Stars coach’s residence into office space.

There has been widespread public criticisms after it emerged that newly appointed Black Stars coach, Carlos Queiroz had to sleep in a hotel before his unveiling, as the official residence for coaches had been converted into an office.

Reacting to this, Kwaku Yeboah fumed over the fact that the sports minister has not taken any steps to question the Ghana Football Association (GFA) about the decision.

The Peace FM sports journalist stated that he expects Kofi Adams to show authority by engaging the GFA to ensure the Black Stars coach’s residence is restored for managers, in order to avoid the nation paying exorbitant hotel bills.

“I expect Kofi Adams to prove to us that he has worked with Papa J before. The coach’s residence at Airport Hills has been converted into an office. Kofi Adams looks to God to pay hotel bills. Queiroz won’t be sleeping at the hotel alone, he is coming with four or five backroom staff."

"The minister should address all these issues. Where is Nii Lante in this situation? The minister should tell the GFA that they are wrong,” he said in Twi while speaking on Peace FM.

He further bemoaned the high number of backroom staff in the Black Stars technical team, arguing that it is unnecessary and should be trimmed down.

“You appointed 22 technical team members and blamed it on Otto Addo. About 20 coaching staff should have been sacked once the head coach was gone, but they are firing one and leaving others. If Queiroz adds his five technical team members, it will be 26. How?” he questioned.
