Goalkeepers’ trainer Fatawu Dauda and high-performance coach John Paintsil will remain part of the Black Stars technical setup under new head coach Carlos Queiroz, following his official unveiling on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
The confirmation was made by Henry Asante Twum during Queiroz’s unveiling at the Alisa Hotel, where he outlined the structure of the incoming technical team and the blend of continuity with new additions.
“As for the next four months, he will be the coach. He comes with five new staff members to support him. The GFA will make announcements in the coming days regarding their roles and names. He will work with a core of the staff that worked under Otto Addo, notably Paintsil and Fatawu Dauda,” Asante Twum stated.
Assistant coach Desmond Offei is also among those retained, ensuring some familiarity within the setup as Queiroz begins his tenure.

The experienced coach, who has managed top clubs including Real Madrid and Manchester United, as well as national teams such as Portugal and Iran, will lead Ghana into the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
