Assistant coach of FC Nordsjælland, Michael Essien, has hailed Kudus Mohammed as the most talented footballer Ghana possesses at the moment.

He stated that the former Ajax Amsterdam midfielder has proven himself on the biggest stages in world football and has firmly established his level of play.

The ex-Chelsea star urged Ghanaians to rally behind Kudus in both good and difficult times, noting that his growth and excellence at the top level will contribute significantly to the nation’s football history.

Speaking in an interview with FIFA, Essien stressed that Ghanaians should show more love to the player, regardless of his struggles, to boost his morale.

“If I start talking about him [Kudus], we won't finish! I think he has showcased himself to the football world. He’s one of the biggest talents, and for Ghana, he's our star. We have to protect him and give him all the love and confidence he needs,” he told fifa.com.

Kudus started life at Tottenham Hotspur brightly with impressive performances, but an injury hampered his progress and has since kept him sidelined.

The 25-year-old suffered a significant thigh/hamstring injury against Sunderland on January 4, 2026.
