The Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, has called for the inclusion of Andre Dede Ayew in Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.
According to him, the NAC Breda forward is the nation’s most experienced player, and his addition to the squad would be a major boost in guiding the younger players.
He emphasised that the level of competition at the World Cup will require Ayew’s experience in crucial moments, which could make a significant impact both on and off the pitch.

The NSA boss also stressed that if the former Black Stars captain is fully fit and free from injury concerns, the technical team should strongly consider him for the tournament.
“If Andre Dede Ayew is fit, he should be included in the Black Stars squad for the World Cup because he is Ghana's most experienced player,” Ankrah said.
Ayew’s inclusion in the Black Stars has become a public debate, with some arguing that he has paid his dues and should step aside to allow younger players to showcase their potential.
Currently, Andre Ayew plays for Dutch side NAC Breda, where he is working hard to regain his best form to strengthen his case for a return to the national team.
