He stated that boxing currently lacks adequate sponsorship and funding, which affects boxers and their performance in the long run.

The young boxer called for the same level of support and sponsorship given to the Black Stars at major tournaments to be extended to boxing to boost the sport’s growth.

“I see boxing as the only thing that can change my life, so I’ve put all my effort into it. We need more sponsors, those who can support us like they support the Black Stars. Anytime the Black Stars are going for a tournament, they get sponsorship and funding."

“They should also invest in boxing because when boxers succeed, the nation benefits. But still, they are not paying attention to our issues. So we are pleading with them to come and support us, not just me, but all Ghanaian boxers as well,” he said.

Allotey also disclosed that he dreams of winning a world title for Ghana and is optimistic about achieving this goal with diligent training.

“I feel like I’m the next one to win a title for Ghana. I know it’s not an easy job, but I’m prepared. So far, I have a lot to do, but there’s no pressure on me,” he added.
