Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has disclosed that mobilising resources to support sporting activities has been his biggest challenge so far.
He explained that his efforts to galvanize financial resources have been difficult, particularly in convincing corporate entities to contribute their quota to support projects.
The minister indicated that there seems to be a lack of trust in the sporting sector, which has contributed to the challenge, but assured that his outfit is working assiduously to address the problem.

“The biggest challenge has really been the resources to do what you want to do and mobilizing them in an atmosphere that is quite tight, and in an atmosphere where they don’t trust you. So one really has to work to increase transparency and build trust so that the resources needed can come both from government, whose responsibility it is and from the private corporate sector, which should also come on board as part of its responsibility.
“That has been the challenge. Of course, time is key. We will continue to find ways of managing our time across all the sports that need our attention,” he told GhanaWeb on the Sports Check.
He also called for more support from the media in projecting the ministry’s work, saying: “More support from the media is needed because the media is key. The media is what will carry what we do out there. They say doing business without advertising is like selling in the dark nobody will see.”
