The Volta Regional Secretariat of the National Sports Authority (NSA) is set to convene a Stakeholders Dialogue on its flagship sports development initiative, Agenda 2028 – Volta to the Olympics.

The upcoming engagement seeks to bring together key stakeholders across the region to solicit inputs, build consensus, and identify areas of collaboration towards the successful implementation of the multi-year sports development programme.

Participants are expected to include representatives from the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC), Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), Members of Parliament (MPs), the Ghana Education Service (GES), sports federations, corporate institutions, development partners, and community leaders.

Agenda 2028 is a strategic initiative aimed at identifying, nurturing, and developing athletes across the Volta Region for elite competitions, including the Olympic Games. The programme focuses on key disciplines such as athletics, boxing, handball, volleyball, and basketball, with strong emphasis on grassroots development and school sports integration.

According to the organisers, the dialogue will provide a platform for stakeholders to contribute ideas, propose partnerships, and align efforts to strengthen sports development across all 18 districts of the region.

A major highlight of the engagement will be discussions on collaboration with the Ghana Education Service, particularly through the Physical Education framework, to ensure effective talent identification and development from the school level.

The National Sports Authority is therefore inviting interested individuals, institutions, corporate organisations, and development partners to participate in the dialogue and contribute to shaping the future of sports in the Volta Region.

Agenda 2028 is expected to serve as a comprehensive roadmap for sports development in the region, with the long-term goal of positioning the Volta Region as a strong contributor to Ghana’s Olympic success.
