Former Asante Kotoko head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has said that Callum Hudson-Odoi and Eddie Nketiah will improve the Black Stars if given the opportunity to play.
The Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace attackers were omitted from the Black Stars squad for the two international friendlies against Austria and Germany in March 2026, part of preparations for the World Cup.
Speaking on their exclusion, the former Black Stars assistant coach acknowledged that, although the timing ahead of the tournament may not be ideal for new players to adjust, he believes their inclusion would be beneficial.

Dramani argued that their quality would strengthen the Black Stars’ attack by adding different profiles that could improve the team significantly.
“I personally think team building takes time, and too many new faces may not find the cohesion and fluidity of team chemistry. Three months is too short to introduce too much freshness. Ghana has been fortunate to have quality in the wide areas, but the quality of these two players is huge.
“I remember we made several attempts to get them to join the Black Stars before and after Qatar. These are lifetime decisions, and players need time to make such long-term choices about their careers. I’m not sure of their current status, but no one can doubt the quality and ability they would bring to the team,” he said in an interview with Graphic Sports.
The debate over Hudson-Odoi and Nketiah joining the Black Stars has been ongoing in the public domain, and it remains to be seen whether they will eventually commit.
