Former Kuwait footballer, Fahad Abdulaziz Al-Mujamad was killed following a missile attack from Iran as the war in the Middle East rages on.

The ex-footballer, who later became a security officer, died alongside Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Emad Al-Sharrah while on duty.

Reports indicated that shrapnel fell on Mutlaa Road, and both men were killed as a result of strikes from Iran amid its ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel.
Before joining military service, Al-Mujamad was a central defender who began his professional career with Al‑Qadsia SC, one of Kuwait’s most decorated clubs, before moving on to represent Kazma SC and later Al‑Salmiya SC.
During his stint at Al-Salmiya, particularly from 2019 onward, he emerged as a key figure in the club’s defense and eventually captained the side for several seasons.
He retired from professional football only a few months before his death, announcing his decision during a match between Al-Salmiya SC and Al‑Arabi SC, choosing to step away from the game to focus entirely on his military career.
His former club, Al-Salmiya SC, expressed condolences to their former captain and his colleague who passed away in the line of duty, urging the bereaved families to remain strong.
“With great sadness and sorrow, the president, board members, and all affiliates of Al-Salmiya Club extend their sincere condolences to the families of the two martyrs and to the Kuwaiti people following the death of Major Fahad Abdulaziz Al-Mujamad, a player of Al-Salmiya Club, and Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Emad Al-Sharrah, who were martyred while performing their national duty,” the club said in a statement.
Other clubs and the Kuwait football federation have extended their condolences as well.
