Head coach of Holy Stars, Johnson Smith, has expressed satisfaction with his side’s performance in their draw against Accra Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.
Speaking after the match, Smith said he was very pleased with the result, highlighting the team’s preparation and determination going into the encounter.
“I’m very, very pleased with the results,” he said, adding that his team approached the game with respect for their opponents but without fear.
Although Accra Hearts of Oak were reduced to ten men during the match, Smith admitted his side could have done more to secure all three points, but insisted the team still executed their game plan effectively.
The coach also praised midfielder Isa Yakubu for his impressive display in the middle of the park, particularly after returning from injury.
“Isa Yakubu was injured during our last match, but we decided to start him. If things didn’t go well, we would have changed him, but he did very well,” Smith explained.
Looking ahead, Johnson Smith noted that the team will use the upcoming FA Cup break to regroup before their next league assignment on Matchday 26.
