Kotoko's appeal dismissed

THE appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association has dismissed an appeal filed by Kumasi Asante Kotoko against an earlier ruling of the Disciplinary Committee in what is now termed the “Charles Taylor saga”.

In dismissing the appeal, the Appeals Committee made it clear that there was no credible evidence that Hearts were a party to any fraud or conspiracy to change the booking of Charles Taylor on the field of play.

It further said the evidence of some of the match officials raised suspicion that Hearts may have been a party to whatever change was effected but the mere suspicion did not amount to truth without any further concrete.

The Committee also agreed with the ruling of the Disciplinary Committee that Charles Taylor’s third yellow card was never communicated to the Ghana Football Association and, this was not due to any act by Hearts.

Messrs Tanko Ibrahim and Ernest Thompson represented Kotoko and Hearts respectively.
