Crusaders Starts On The High

Soccer Crusaders FC started the league on the high after seeing off Rainbow stars 1 – 0 in their division three group C league match played on Sunday. The match originally scheduled for the Ebenezer Senior High school park was later played at the karikari park near Agege, due to work on the school grounds. The match which marked the start of the Accra West District Division Three league was keenly contested with Soccer Crusaders playing host to Rainbow Stars. The only goal of the match was scored in the first half. Patrick Ahinful was first to a pass from midfield by team mate Enoch Lartey. With the opponent goalkeeper at his mercy, Ahinful’s shot went straight into the top left corner for the only goal. The two teams sold out a very beautiful game to the admiration of the few fans that came to cheer their respective teams to victory. The away team came back strongly after going down with so many shoots on target but were unfortunate they could not find the back of the net. Michael Martey playing in the heart of the defence for the Crusaders gave a man of the match performance to foil lot of the attacks initiated by the opponents.

In the other matches that were played in the group Mylik FC lost 0 - 1 at home to Dansoman Celtic at the Railways park in Dansoman, Ultimate Choice got a vital away point when they drew 1-1 with Accra United at the Mambrouk park, Banana Inn , Top Talent FC threw away a two goal lead to lose 3 – 2 to Mission Rangers who were playing at home at the Dansoman 1 & 2 school park in Dansoman. For the second week fixtures; Top Talent FC will welcome Accra United to the Ebenezer School Park, Ultimate Choice will also be at home to Mylik FC at the Mambrouk park, Rainbow Stars will host Mission Rangers at the Ebenezer school park and fresh from their victories Dansoman Celtic will clash with Soccer Crusaders FC at the Railways park with Celtic playing at home.
