AshGold in third successive victory

Obuasi, May 24, GNA - A rejuvenated Obuasi AshGold side beat visiting Sekondi Hasaacas 2-0 in their 20th Week Glo Premier League encounter at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Sunday. The Miners with this third successive victory have brightened their standing on the League table.

Daniel Asamoah opened the scoring in the ninth minute when he converted a penalty after a defender of Hassacas had handled the ball in the penalty box.

The early goal inspired Ashgold to fight for more goals but the defence of Hasaacas repulsed all their moves. When the second half resumed, both sides played an all attacking game but it was AshGold who had the upper hand as they went ahead to increase their tally to two through Abdul Aziz Yussif who after pouncing on a ball raced deep into the opponents' goal area before slotting in the ball for a convincing victory.
