Faisal beat Bechem Chelsea in League match

Kumasi, May 13, GNA - Kumasi King Faisal beat Bechem Chelsea F/C 3-2 in their 18th Week encounter of their Glo Premier League match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Wednesday.

Three goals in the first half was all that Faisal needed to overcome a rejuvenated Chelsea side who nearly shocked the home team in the second half as they fought hard to pull two goals back from defeat. Chelsea's Lee Addy scored an own goal in the 13th minute as his harmless back pass to goalkeeper Abubakari Iddrisu surprisingly beat the latter to the amazement of the spectators.

With an early gifted goal, Faisal intensified their attack to probe for an avalanche of goals which did come when an unmarked midfielder Dan Addo meandered his way through a forest of legs in the visitors' goal area to blast home the second goal for his side in the 20th minute. The home team increased their goal tally to three in the 29th minute in a beautiful move that saw Abedi Sarfo's feeble shot take a deflection of Chelsea's Kwame Boateng to beat his own keeper.

In the second half, the visitors consigned to a tactical formation and succeeded to bombard the goal area of Faisal with series of attacks and it came as no surprise when Abdul Basit hit a brace for Chelsea by scoring in the 65th and 83rd minutes.

The visitors seized the midfield from then in the latter stages of the match and used the flanks effectively but were unable to find the back of the net due to poor shooting from Moro Awudu, Owusu Jackson and Issaka Ibrahim to end the match.

At Abrankese near Kumasi, Kessben F/C were held to a pulsating 1-1 draw game by visiting RTU in another league match.
