GGA President calls for more sponsorship

Tema, May 1, GNA-Professor George Ntsiful, President of the Ghana Golf Association (GGA) has called for more sponsorship from corporate bodies to enable the association to train junior golfers to develop their talents.

Prof. Ntsiful made the call at the opening of this year's Ghana Open Golf Championship at Tema on Friday. About 150 golfers throughout the country, are participating in the three-day 54-Hole event, under the auspices of the Association. It is being sponsored by the Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited with support from Coca Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited.

Prof. Ntsiful asked the participants to exhibit a high level of sportsmanship throughout the event. Mr. Mawuko Afadzinu, Marketing Manager of Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited said the sponsorship formed part of the bank's corporate social responsibilities. He said it was also the policy of the bank to ensure that its clients stayed healthy at all times through sports. The Marketing Manager gave the assurance that the bank would continue to assist the association in their developmental and promotion efforts.
