Golfers prepare for Bok Nam Kim Memorial Open

Tema, April 14, GNA - All is set for this year's Bok Nam Kim Memorial Open Golf Championship scheduled for the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday, April 18. Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, General Manager of the Tema Country Golf Club told GNA Sports at Tema on Tuesday that about 150 golfers are expected to participate in the event, which would be in memory of Mr Bok Nam Kim, former Chief Executive of Afko Group of Companies who single-handedly sponsored Ghana's contingent to the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea. Mr Kim, one time President of the Tema Country Golf Club, died in the 1995.

Mr Adablanu said the one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford event, which is open to amateur and professional golfers, would be sponsored by Afko Group of Companies. He said "following his enormous contribution to the promotion and development of sports in the country, an annual competition has been instituted in his memory".

The General Manager said some of the players expected to participate in the competition which has Handicap 18 as the entry requirements include captain Kwekue Okyere, Do Jo Yim, President of the Club, William Asiedu Yeboah, the immediate past captain and Felix Owusu-Adjapong, immediate past president, all of the Tema Golf Club. Mr S. C. Chun, Chief Executive Officer of Afko Group of Companies is expected to grace the occasion.
