Osam Duodu Invites three foreign stars

BLACK STARS boss Fred Osam Duodu has called up foreign based players Stephen Appiah, Emmanuel Duah and Baffour Gyan for the game against Lesotho.

The Black Stars will resume training on Monday in preparation for another African Nations Cup qualifier, this time against Lesotho at the Kumasi Sports Stadium Ghana on June 17.

The list of players called up is predominantly made up of the local based players but also includes three foreign based players - Appiah of Italian side AC Parma, Duah of Uniaro Leira in Portugal and Gyan who plays for Czech side Slovan Liberic.

Most of the local based players called up by caretaker coach Osam Duodu were invited for the preparations in their game against Zimbabwe, which they won a fortnight ago in Harare.

Clubs like Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak and Obuasi Goldfields have many players getting national call-ups.

From Asante Kotoko, coach Osam Duodu called up Lawrence Adjei, Osei Boateng (goalkeeper), Godwin Ablordey, Nana Frimpong and Isaac Owusu, whose is being called up again after injury ruled him out earlier on.

James Nanor and Sammy Adjei (both goalkeepers), Amankwah Mireku, Joe Ansah, Adjah Tetteh and Charles Taylor are all from Hearts of Oak.

Obuasi Goldfields have Princeton Owusu Ansah, Kofi Amoako, Isaac Boakye and Stephen Amo all getting an invitation to join the Black Stars.

Other players invited are George Essilfie of Great Olympics, Hamza Mohammend of Real Tamale United and Issa Mohammend of Sekondi Hasaacas.
