Bekoe Keen to Impress Hertha Berlin

Ghana Premier League top goal scorer Eric Bekoe is off to Germany tonight for a one-week trial with Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin.

Bekoe was the penalty-goal hero for Kumasi Asante Kotoko as they beat Libya's Al-Ittihad 3-2 to advance to the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup but told KickOffGhana.com afterwards he is flying off to Berlin for trials on Monday.

Bekoe, the subject of some incredible rumours about interest from virtually everywhere with figures of a million dollars bandied about, will spend the next five days with Hertha in an effort to convince the German capital club that he deserves a deal.

He has been on fire this season and is confident he has what it takes to impress the Bundesliga side.

His two goals in the Confederations Cup on Sunday took his tally in the competition this season to six all at the Baba Yara Stadium to add to his 17 league goals that he scored during the domestic Ghana season.

That will not guarantee Bekoe a place at Hertha though and the striker is aware he must work his socks off in Berlin to earn his deal.

"I have had a wonderful season so far and even though I am not desperate landing a deal in Berlin will cap it for me," he told KickOffGhana.com.
