RTU Players 'resign'

All players of premier side, Real Tamale United have resigned due to attacks on them from their fans.

The resignation is said to have taken effect immediately after their first league match against Asante Kotoko in Tamale last Saturday, which ended 1-1. The club’s management has also accepted the players' resignation.

There were reported cases of crowd violence.

Real Tamale United would have to register new players again before Wednesday for Sunday’s matches if the stand of the resigned players does not change.

Also, the FA's Disciplinary Committee would be meeting very soon to determine the punishment to be meted out to RTU for their fans' behaviour. It is expected that, they would be handed a two-match home ban.
