COCOBOD commission's gym and fitness centre

Accra, July 17, GNA - The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Cocoa Board, (COCOBOD) Isaac Osei on Wednesday commissioned a Gym and Fitness Centre as part of efforts towards improving the health care of the staff. The facility, which is the result of a collaborative venture with Mom's Health Centre, an Accra-based fitness centre is packed with state-of-the-art fitness equipment. The facility consists of a Cardio, Physiotherapy and Massage rooms, Consulting room and an Aerobics Centre with trained instructors to assist end users.

At the commissioning of the facility, Mr Osei described it as an enhancement of the staffs' fitness apart from the free medical care, which will also enable them to perform at their optimum. Mr Osei added that the centre would aid in the reduction of cardio-vascular diseases while urging members of staff to take advantage of it to derive the expected benefits. Mrs Alice Flavia-Quasie, Director of Human Resource explained that the facility was timely and encouraged all members of staff to make the best of it.

She said she was hopeful that it would improve the fitness levels of the staff and reduce the disease infection rate amongst them. The facility, situated on the precincts of the COCOBOD Head Office in Accra is opened to only members of staff. 17 July 08
