Tafo Golf Club beat Celebrity 7-1

Tafo (E/R), June 22, GNA-Tafo Golf Club put up a splendid performance to beat Celebrity Golf Club of Sakumono 7-1 in their Inter club Match-Play Golf Championship played at the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) Golf Course at Tafo in the Eastern Region on Saturday. Led by their captain, Francis Oppong, Tafo who lost the first game played at Sakumono last year, were a delight to watch as they entertained the crowd with some good swings.

Douglas Tetteh snatched the first point for Tafo when he beat Francis Quartey 1-0, Afriyie Nyarko, Smirley Bannerman, Joe Daglo, Kofi Yeboah, James Sedefia and Oppong fetched the other points for the home team while Akwasi Opoku won the only point for Celebrity. Mr Prince Kofi Amoabeng, President of the Tafo Golf Club presented the magnificent trophy to Oppong. He made a passionate appeal to corporate bodies to help develop the sport in the country. 22 June 08
