Officers of Greater Accra Kotoko Supporters Union inducted

Accra, May 2, GNA-Supporters of Kumasi Asante Kotoko have been urged to unite and rally behind the club to enable them to achieve their avowed aims. Mr. Sylvester Asare Owusu, Chairman of the Club made the call at the induction of officers of the Greater Accra Regional Circles Council in Accra on Thursdays. He said unity played a very important role in the socio-economic development of every society and that without unity no association, club or nation could progress.

Mr. Asare Owusu said management had put in place adequate programmes to ensure that the club was put on sound economic footing. He said club has formed a Patrons Club where members of the club would be asked to pay membership fee of 1,000 Ghana cedis every year. After paying the fee, he said it would entitle, you to watch, all matches of the club, including league and African Cup of Nations matches free of charge.

Mr. Asare Owusu said money that would be accrued from the Patrons Club would be used to support Kotoko. On the club's impending Confederation Cup match against Dolphins on Sunday, May 11, he said management had put in place adequate preparations to ensure a triumphant outcome for Kotoko. He congratulated the officers and expressed the hope that they would take their work seriously for the betterment of the club. Mr. Edmund Ackah, Chairman of the Council thanked the council for the confidence reposed in the executives and pledged their commitment to work diligently for the well-being of the club. The 12-member executives were later inducted into office.
