Tema Youth to dismiss over 20 players

Ghanaian premier league side Tema Youth have announced a 'very massive' clearing out exercise with over 20 players to be sacked ahead of the start of the second round.

The Tema based side have slipped into the relegation zone at the end of the first round after a one-all draw with basement boys Great Olympics last week.

The club is expected to sack over a score of players for lack of commitment.

''This is a very massive thing and we are doing this because we think they lack commitment,'' Winfred Osei-Parma told Ghanasoccernet.com

''It has to be a drastic approach and we want to go for more tried and tested players who can play.

''I can tell you that only about 10 players are likely to stay with the club out of 35 registered for the season.

''You can talk about division one players who have tasted the premier league before and other who are available to play.

''A list will be released soon and those affected will be told to look for new clubs. We are prepared to breach every contract and break boundaries.

''I think this is the first reaction to our dip in form,'' Parma added.

Tema Youth are in their second season in the top-flight league and will like to maintain their stay.
