E.T. Mensah wins Tema President's Putter

Tema, Feb. 25, GNA - Ebenezer Tetteh Mensah returned a net score of 67 to win this year's Tema Country Golf Club President's Putter Championship played at Tema on Sunday. K.A. Krunzu took the second position with 69 net, while Augustus Irabor placed third with 70 net after he beat Kofi Essel-Koomson and Eric Opoku on count-back.

In the Ladies Division, Esi Cobbina defeated a field of 20 competitors to become the champion with 67 net score, Adelaide Owusu-Adjapong placed second with 71 net and was followed by Esther Antwi with 72 net, while Suzie Abaloo-Kumassah placed fourth with 75 net.

The Professional's event was won by tall and lanky John Dorman with 65 gross followed by Thomas Kodjo at second position with 68 gross, Emos Korblah placed third with 70 gross while Eric Henaku came fourth with 71 gross.

The one-day 18-Hole Medal Play event, which was open to amateur and professional golfers throughout the country, was sponsored by Mr Felix Owusu-Addjapong, President of the Tema Country Golf Club. Mr Owusu-Adjapong, in an address, urged the members to take active interest in the activities of the Club to make them efficient with their strokes and to meet international standards.
