Africa Nations Cup draw on September 8

The draw for next year's African Nations Cup finals is to be held in Bamako on September 8, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced in Cairo on Monday.

Champions Cameroon and hosts Mali will be joined by 14 qualifiers in the draw.

The 16 nations will then be divided into four groups of four and seeded, CAF said.

CAF's executive committee are to determine the seedings at their mid-year meeting in Cairo.

Next year's finals will be played between January 19 and February 10, with five venues suggested to host the matches. This is likely to be reduced after CAF make their final inspection visit to Mali in July.

CAF president Issa Hayatou visited the country last month and ended speculation the tournament might be moved from Mali because of delays in preparations.
