Cross Over Players

Prince Adu Poku's intended move to Accra Hearts of Oaks may have made football lovers to lose count on how many Kotoko and hearts players have crossed over to each others camps in recent times.

Crossing over from Kotoko to Hearts of Oak, perhaps, started with the renowned C.K. Gyamfi, now known as Nana Kumi Gyamfi, a patron of the Ghana Retired Football Association, and now head-coach of Seychelles.

That move had hardly died down before, a player, Musa also crossed the carpet from Kotoko to Hearts. The two opened the gates, and since then players from the porcupine warriors have crossed over and found haven under the Oak Tree.

One-time captain Opoku Afriyie of Kotoko fame plied his profession under the rainbow shirt of the Phobians getting to the end of his career and was nick-named Nii Opoku for contributing immensely to the progress of Accra Hearts of Oak. Naana Eshun, Yaw Sakyi, Edmund Copson, a member of Hearts CAF Champion clubs winning team have all donned the Porcupine Warrior colours before crossing over to Hearts of Oak. Emmanuel Yartey, alias Dr. Panie, Strong man, Agyeman Duah, another member of Hearts CAF Champion clubs winning team have also flirted and fraternised with the Porcupine Warriors before settling with Accra Hearts of Oak.

Classified information from the Phobians reveal that but for the standing friendship between Harry and Herbert in the cross-carpeting exercise, the Phobians would have won more players from Kotoko.

Of course, this is not to discount the quality and contribution of players from Hearts to Kotoko.
