CAF Inspection team arrives on Sept. 16

Accra, Sept. 12, GNA - The Inspection team of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is due in the country on September 16 to begin an inspection of some of the facilities as the nation gears up to host next year's Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by Ghana.

CAF Executive Committee member, Slim Aloulou is expected to lead the four-man team on their inspection tour of the four venue cities of Accra, Kumasi Tamale and Sekondi and other facilities earmarked for the 26th edition of the continent's showpiece.

A statement signed by Magnus Rex Danquah, Chief Operating Officer of the Local Organising Committee copied to the GNA Sports said the other members of the team include Mr Habuba Suleiman, CAF Director of Communications, Mr Jean-Marie Weber, CAF Marketing Consultant and Mr Idriss Akki of Sportive, Media and Marketing Partners for the competition.

This will be the eighth inspection visit of the CAF team since Ghana won the bid to host the event three years ago. The visit spans from 16th - 19th September.

The competition is scheduled for January 20 - February 10, 2008.
