GFA Bolts with ¢163,000,000?

GFA Refusus to pay for Black Stars Dinner Dance
The Black Stars debut world cup appearance has come and gone yet the inefficiencies and rot in the circles of the Ghana Football Association still continues and one wonders why a body like the GFA can be filled with corrupt officials who are bent on bringing shame and disgrace to the hard won respect of our Gallant Black Stars.

It is shocking to hear that the dinner held for the Black stars including their food for close to a week and sanctioned by Mr. Awuah Nyamekye who acted as the President of the body here in Ghana during the FIFA world cup appearance has not been paid for a year now when they lodged at the Earlbeam Hotel in Accra.

Officials has rendered account to deceive the public on expenditure at the World Cup and it is interesting to note that the players and some officials who lodged at the Earlbeam Hotel and given the best of royal treatment did not honour their part of the bargin by bolting with the amount involved totalling ¢163,000,000.

Management of Earlbeam did their best by providing them free accomodation during their period of stay only to be stab in the back by the GFA by refusing to pay them their due dinner and food money. Even other logistics acquired through credit for the successful dinner has not been paid to date.

Some of the players when contacted were shocked to hear this and wonders why they should be disgraced this way whilst they are fully aware of the sponsorship and finances that accrued from the tournament. It is a known fact that provision totalling a whooping ¢300,000,000 was made for the dinner and it is only the GFA who have answers to where those funds were utilized. Even the lady who facilitated all these has lost her job and debtors keeps threatening her day in and out.

Perhaps the most annoying fact is that most officials of the GFA including the president were at the dinner to enjoy themselves and when it is due for payment they are playing games. The sector minister, Hon. O B Amoah, the GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi, Opoku Afriyie, Awuah Nyamekye etc are all playing hide and seek with this issue.

How do we progress under this condition. Only God Knows............
