Ofosu Appiah to join Meteors for Qualifier

In a bid to strengthen his team, the national Under-23 soccer side, Black Meteors, ahead of their crucial All African Games qualifier against neighboring Nigeria next Sunday, the head coach of the side Sir Cecil Jones Attuquayefio, has extended invitation to defender, Ofosu-Appiah to join the squad for Sunday’s encounter.

Young Ofosu-Appiah, who appears a replica of Black Stars Russia based defender Shilla Illiasu, plays for Premiership side Kpando Heart of Lions and a member of the local based Black Star players selected by French trainer Claude Le Roy, has being in fantastic form this season, something which has made him grabbing the headlines of most soccer journal.

The player, whose club currently occupies the third position of the sixteen-club league table after leaders Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko, is likely leave the club for an European side after the end of the season to continue his career after been spotted by some soccer scout last February. The Black Meteors, who departs the shores of Ghana for Lagos on Thursday to play Nigeria on Sunday for the second and final qualifier to this year’s All-African Games to be hosted by Algeria, on Wednesday beat the local based Black Stars 5-0 in a friendly game played at the Liberty Carl Reindorff Park.
