New SWAG executives to take over on Saturday

Accra, Jan 4, GNA - The newly elected officers of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) will on Saturday, January 6, assume the mantle of leadership for a four year term of office. This follows an agreement made at a general meeting on December 9, 2006, chaired by outgoing president Mr Ebo Quansah, at the Associations Club House at Dansoman.

Outgoing president Mr Quansah is expected to hand over to the newly elected executives led by Mr Ackah Anthony at a ceremony scheduled for the Club House of SWAG at Dansoman Exhibition at 11:00 am. The newly elected executives were declared elected unopposed by the electoral commissioner, Mr Harry Mouzalas, on December 9, after their respective opponents withdrew from the elections at the eleventh hour. Among the newly elected executives are Mr Christian Abbew, vice president, Richard Avornyotse and William Ezah General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary respectively.

The rest are Veronica Commey - Treasurer, George Lawson and Emmanuel Amponsah - Executive Members.

The term of the outgoing executives led by Mr Quansah expired in August last year.
