A ray of hope for hockey

...Carpet for construction arrives
...Experts to start work soon

AFTER SEVERAL months of ?no action? in the Areeba hockey league following the deteriorating nature of the pitch, the much-anticipated materials for the reconstruction have finally arrived from Holland. And for hockey pundits, the arrival of the carpet is indeed, a refreshing one, having waited so long for the commencement of this season?s league.

The Chairman of the Ghana Hockey Association (GHA), Mr. Oko Nikoi-Dzani has given the assurance that work will begin as soon as practicable. ?We are expecting experts from Holland this week and soon after their arrival, work will begin,? he stated at the Theodosia Oko Pitch in Accra last Saturday.

Mr. Dzani pointed out that it would take the experts four days to complete the reconstruction. He said he has spent ?22 million for clearing the materials from the harbour.

This season?s league is expected to bully off soon after fixing the new carpet.
