Triangular Boxing Tournament to be held in Wa

Wa, Oct. 3, GNA - The Third Triangular Boxing Tournament involving boxers from the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions will be held at the Adonis Cinema Hall in Wa on Saturday, October 7.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency on the event at Wa on Tuesday, Mr Thomas Sanye, Upper West Regional Sports Organiser, said it was being organized and sponsored by Dade Boxing Promotions Syndicate, to unearth boxing talents in the three regions of the country.

He said the first two tournaments were held at Tamale and Bolgatanga respectively and it was the turn of the Upper West to host it.

About 18 boxers are expected to participate in four weight categories that include, light flyweight, bantamweight, lightweight and welterweight.

Mr Sanye appealed to sports enthusiasts in and around Wa to patronise the event as a way of encouraging the youth in the area to embrace boxing as a sport. 03 Oct. 06
