Jones calls up 38 into Meteors

Cecil Jones Attuquayefio has called up thirty-eight players into Ghana?s Olympics team, the Black Meteors to begin camping in the second week of October.

The thirty-eight players are drawn from the premier league and division one leagues.

Over forty players were initially called into camp by the Black Meteors coaching staff before the World Cup finals hosted by Germany in June.

The programme for Olympic team?s preparations is fashioned not to conflict with the league schedule.

Players in the national team would be breaking camp periodically to honour club commitments.

Cecil Jones Attuquayefio would get down to job on Monday, October 9 when the entire team assembles for training.

As part of the training programmes of the Black Meteors, the head coach, Cecil Jones Attuquayefio has proposed six trial matches with premier league clubs.

The preparatory period for the Olympic team would end on Thursday, November 2.

Ghana has drawn a bye and would thus play her first game in the qualifying series in February 2007.

Meanwhile, the preliminary round qualifiers for the Olympic Games begins on October 6.
