Kotoko Loses 3 Points And 2-Match Ban

Kumasi Asante Kotoko's plan of winning the second spot on the league table has been given a jolt. The club has lost three points and three goals from its total points and goals build-up.

In addition, the Porcupine Warriors have been slapped with a two- match ban on the Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association for its role in violence during the Kotoko-Hearts 2nd round league match on July16, in Kumasi.

These were revealed to Mail Sports by a confidante of Kotoko Boss, Herbert Mensah.

According to our source, Kotoko were made losers in their encounter with Okwawu, for bringing the match to an abrupt end in the 87th minute.

Kotoko in a statement to the press after the abortive match said its safety could not be guaranteed but the Disciplinary Committee thought otherwise.

In another development the Appeals Committee of the GFA has slapped a two-match ban on the Porcupine Warriors - for crowd violence in their encounter against Hearts of Oak.
