GFA outlines programmes for rest of 2006

Accra, Sept. 7, GNA 96 The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced its programme for the last quarter of the year. The programmes forms part of the 'Business and Development Plan' of the Kwesi Nyantakyie led administration which took office late last year.

The President of the GFA, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyie who announced this at a press briefing in Accra on Thursday said the programmes which will start from the latter stages of August are expected to end in the middle of December 2006.

Mr Nyantakyie outlined the programme that includes basic and intermediate courses for coaches, referees as well as first aid for soccer administrators.

He said junior structures will also be laid for foundation courses to be organised for both male and female teams in the Under-12, 13, 15, 16, 17 and 19 categories.

The President said participants in the various courses will be presented with certificates in their various fields. Mr Nyantakyie said that the programmes are geared at sustaining the current success of the nation in football by building the right foundation for the future.

He added the GFA plans to develop every aspect of the game in the country in order to ensure even development of the sport. Mr Nyantakyie called on all stakeholders and the media to support the FA in developing the game in the country.
