Tema Youth pip Hasaacas

Tema, Aug. 19, GNA - New League entrants, Tema Youth started the 2006/2007 Premier League on a bright note when they beat visiting Sekondi Hasaacas 1-0 in their match played at the Tema Sports Stadium on Saturday.

Ironically, it was Hasaacas who carried the game into their opponent's vital area soon after kick off but failed to find the net as poor shooting upfront robbed them of any goal attempt.

Tema Youth quickly repulsed the attack and deservedly went ahead to score the only goal of the match in the 22nd minute when Abeiku Gaisie's low grounder beat Hasaacas goalkeeper Ekow Ampiah.

Hasaacas after the goal threw everything into the game in an effort to get the much needed equaliser but all their attempts failed to find the net till the end of the first half.

Both teams started the second session with serious intent but it was the home side who were slightly on top they also failed to increase the tally as their attackers, spearheaded by Joe Ansah squandered many obvious scoring chances.

Hasaacas launched a last minute onslaught but their striker Daniel Addo who was in a good position to equalise for his side fumbled in front of goal to deny his side the opportunity of at least getting a point in their match.
